5. Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation clinically examines clients for their nature, extent and causes of disability. Following the medical examination, medicines will be prescribed if needed and the clients are referred to other specialists for further investigation and rehabilitation. Medical & Genetic counseling, referrals for psychological, therapeutic and special education inputs will be provided. Therapeutic services including exercise therapy, electro and sensory integration therapies are provided through other departments. Appropriate aids and appliances including artificial limbs are given to the persons with disabilities. The main objective of the department is to make "life in the years" of the clients and the focus is on training the parents in doing exercises and activities to help their child with disability.
